Abstract

This article examines how national and international academic production relates Indigenous youth to climate and environmental change, and how they resist and organize themselves in intercultural processes of ancestral connection with the land, in order to question the modern-colonial world system. The systematization of research published in peer-reviewed articles in North America, Latin America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Oceania highlights the close relationship between environmental and climate change and education, health, resilience, and socio-historical and political processes. These studies reveal that Indigenous youth, in different continental contexts, share common challenges stemming from the persistent invisibility of the intersectionality between ethnic-racial and generational relations and environmental issues.
